About the Humane Society
of the Treasure Coast

The mission of the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast is to promote compassionate care and nurture the bond between people and pets.

Founded in 1955, as the Martin County Animal Rescue League, the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast (HSTC) is an open admission shelter, accepting all animals regardless of health, age, temperament or breed.  HSTC does not euthanize any healthy animal in order to make space, and no animal has a "time limit".

HSTC partners with over 20 other non-profits to provide services to help strengthen the community offering a variety of programs and services through their Misty's Pal's Pet Therapy Group.

HSTC is not affiliated with, nor supported by any other humane society.

Over the years more than 100,000 animals have received care through HSTC and there is still work to be done.
