Tutto Italiano will be hosting a promotion, “2 for $29.95 Mutt March Fundraiser & Pre-Registration Days,” from Mon., Sept. 23 through Sun., Sept. 29 that will benefit the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast (HSTC). During these dates, the Italian eatery is offering two entrée packages for the special price of $29.95 and for every combo package ordered, the eatery will donate $20 to the HSTC. Tutto Italiano, 6185 SE Federal Highway, Stuart, is open Mon. through Sat. from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Humane Society names Mutt March committee for 11th annual event

The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast (HSTC) announces the formation of a new Mutt March committee comprised of veteran HSTC volunteers and supporters. The Mutt March’s key committee members are Katelin Drugas, Wenona Palombi, Claudia Cobble and Shaun Kelly. They are on board to help register individual walkers at pre-registration parties, encourage pack registrations and online fundraising, sell Mutt March raffle tickets, solicit prizes and market the event through various traditional and non-traditional channels.

To entice adopters to select a new dog this month, the HSTC has launched a Barktoberfest adoption special. From now through Oct. 31, the HSTC’s shelter dog adoption fee will be reduced from $120 to $60.

Plans for 11th annual Mutt March in full swing

It’s not too early to register your furry friend for the 11th annual Mutt March, presented by and benefiting The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast (HSTC). This popular event is expected to attract more than one thousand supporters and their four-legged family members on Sat., Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to noon in Memorial Park in downtown Stuart.

Carson’s Tavern is hosting a last call pre-registration party from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 for anyone who would like to sign up for the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast’s 11th annual Mutt March. Carson’s is located at 2883 SE Ocean Blvd. in Stuart. s located at 2883 SE Ocean Blvd. in Stuart. Admission to the party is $10 and includes one Mutt March pre-registration, an HSTC tote bag, one drink, appetizers and DJ music by T-Rex Entertainment. Pets are welcome, rain or shine.

Volunteers at the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast’s two thrift stores in Stuart are promising pure chocolate and pure fun at Santa’s Chocolate Festival. This first-time event will take place 9 a.m.-3 p.m, Sat., Dec. 7, at both thrift stores: Thrift Store Central, 2585 SE Federal Highway, Stuart and Thrift Store North, 1099 NW 21st Street, Stuart.

Sip & Shop while helping shelter animals

Guests can enjoy wine and light snacks while helping shelter animals at the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast’s Sip & Shop event on Thurs., Dec. 12, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at J. McLaughlin in Harbour Bay Plaza, 3738 SE Ocean Blvd., in Sewall’s Point.

Humane Society offering reduced adoption fees through end of year

The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast’s shelter is filled to capacity and the intake of cats and rabbits continues to climb. To ease the overcrowding, the HSTC is offering cat, kitten and rabbit adoptions through Dec. 31 for just $10! Additionally, the shelter will waive the adoption fees for featured dogs (not all dogs).

Bring a pet “Home for the Howlidays”

The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast (HSTC) is counting on the public to bring some joy to their shelter pets this holiday season. The goal is to place all of the available animals in a foster home Dec. 21, 2013-Jan. 5, 2014. The shelter is located at 4100 SW Leighton Farm Ave., Palm City. Adoption hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Mon.-Sat.; 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Wed.; and 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Sun.

The rains held off and the sun shone brightly as more than a thousand two-legged and four-legged supporters of the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast (HSTC) participated in the 11th annual Mutt March, which benefits the nonprofit organization’s shelter animals. So far, the Mutt March has generated more than $37,000 and donations continue to be accepted as part of this event. Supporters may donate in person at the HSTC shelter, 4100 SW Leighton Farm Ave., Palm City, by check or online at http://www.HSTCMuttMarch.org.
