Stuart, Fla. — The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast (HSTC) announces the formation of a new Mutt March committee comprised of veteran HSTC volunteers and supporters.

The Mutt March’s key committee members are Katelin Drugas, Wenona Palombi, Claudia Cobble and Shaun Kelly. They are on board to help register individual walkers at pre-registration parties, encourage pack registrations and online fundraising, sell Mutt March raffle tickets, solicit prizes and market the event through various traditional and non-traditional channels.

“It’s always great to have the input of volunteers who know our mission and events well, especially one that draws more than a thousand four-legged and two-legged participants,” said HSTC Community Events Manager Jayme Uteschill. “We appreciate their dedication to volunteer their time and talents.”

Additional volunteers help during the Mutt March as well. The Mutt March is a family-friendly event featuring dog owners and their pets dressed in costumes and other activities. The event will be held Sat., Nov. 9, at Memorial Park in Stuart. Raffle tickets are currently for sale for $10 with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the HSTC. Three prizes — $1000, $500 and $250 American Express gift cards — will be awarded to three lucky winners when the tickets are randomly drawn at the Mutt March. The winner does not need to be present to win.
