On Giving Day, March 26, the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast (HSTC) is encouraging its supporters and all who love animals to make a donation to the HSTC through the Martin County Community Foundation Giving Day website. Donations may be given online at or by calling toll free, 877-448-6223. The Foundation and its Giving Day partners will match, on a percentage basis, the total of donations made during an eight-hour period between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The HSTC hopes to receive enough Giving Day donations to purchase an anesthesia machine that will be used for medical operations needed for its shelter animals. The contributions also will fund three new computers and computer software over the course of the next year.

“This is an awesome opportunity for donors to show their support on Giving Day because their contribution will be increased with a match by the Martin County Community Foundation and its partners,” said President and CEO Frank Valente. “That means their donation will go even farther in helping our shelter animals.”

Giving Day is a unique, online giving event that allows individuals in the community to build a greater community by making a charitable gift to local nonprofits. All gifts will be processed through or by calling 1-877-GIV-MCCF. The Martin County Community Foundation and its partners have committed an initial monetary pool of $40,000 as incentive dollars to match contributions received during Giving Day 2013.
