The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast invites you and your pets to kick off your holidays with its second annual Holiday Extravaganza. This event will be held on Sat., Dec. 8, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the HSTC shelter, 4100 SW Leighton Farm Ave., Palm City. Admission is free.
The affair will feature pet pictures with Santa by J.C. Penney Lifetouch Portrait Studio, arts and crafts, home-baked goods, music by T-Rex Entertainment and an assortment of vendors. A portion of all sales will benefit the shelter animals. The HSTC also encourages you to bring in a donation item for the shelter pets in need. Go to to see the pets’ wish list.
There is no charge for vendors to participate but they must be pre-registered by Dec. 3. To become a vendor or for more information, email or call (772) 600-3216.
Animals also will be available for adoption along with low-cost spay and neuter vouchers for sale. You also can pre-register for the HSTC’s Home for the Holidays foster program, which runs from Dec. 19, 2012 – Jan. 5, 2013. The goal is for every dog to be fostered in homes during the holiday promotional period with the ultimate goal of getting them adopted into a forever home.
