In honor of Election Day, next Tuesday, Nov. 6, the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast (HSTC) is encouraging animal lovers to elect (adopt) a rePUPliCAT or a demoCAT to their house. The incentive will be a reduced adoption fee of $20.12. The normal adoption fee for dogs is $120 and for cats, $40.
Both dogs and cats are available for adoption at the HSTC’s shelter, 4100 SW Leighton Farm Ave., Palm City and will be open on Nov. 6 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Cats also may be adopted from the HSTC’s two thrift stores in Stuart. Thrift Store North, 1099 NW 21st Street, and the Thrift Store Central, 2585 SE Federal Highway, will be open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
“After you vote, why not stop by our shelter or thrift stores and elect your own demoCat or rePUPlicat?” said HSTC Operations Manager Candice Veach. “They don’t do any negative campaigning or renege on promises but they do add lots of love to your home.”
The $20.12 promotion will be for one day only — election day — Nov. 6, 2012. For more information, call 772-223-8822 or visit hstc1.org.
