Carson’s Tavern to host last call Mutt March pre-registration party
Stuart, Fla. — Carson’s Tavern is hosting a last call pre-registration party from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 for anyone who would like to sign up for the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast’s 11th annual Mutt March. Carson’s is located at 2883 SE Ocean Blvd. in Stuart.
Admission to the party is $10 and includes one Mutt March pre-registration, an HSTC tote bag, one drink, appetizers and DJ music by T-Rex Entertainment. Pets are welcome, rain or shine. Guests also may wish to buy a Mutt March raffle ticket for $10 with all proceeds benefiting the shelter animals. Three prizes — $1000, $500 and $250 American Express gift cards — will be awarded to three lucky winners when the tickets are randomly drawn at the Mutt March, which will be held Sat., Nov. 9, at Memorial Park in Stuart. The winner does not need to be present to win. Raffle tickets also may be purchased online at http://www.hstc1.org or at the HSTC shelter and thrift stores.
In addition to the short walk around the park for the animals, this fun-filled event kicks off with a free pancake breakfast by IHOP and features the competitive canine costume contest, Mutt Derby races, lure coursing, a “flea-less” vendor market, AKC Good Citizen testing and obedience demonstrations, and adoptions. Participants also can make a memory at the HSTC photo booth by JC Penney Life Touch Portraits. Florida Trac also will offer thoroughbred adoptions and there will even be a mini horse on site for kids to pet. Approximately one thousand people and their dogs are expected to participate.
For those who can’t make the party, registration may be done online at http://www.HSTCMuttMarch.org. Registrants also may choose to help the animals even more by setting up their own fundraising page on the website. Registrations done on the day of the event will begin at 8:30 a.m. but pre-registration is encouraged.
