Among the witches and goblins will be dogs, cats and other creatures looking for forever homes at the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast (HSTC). To entice adopters to select a new dog this month, the HSTC has launched a Barktoberfest adoption special. From now through Oct. 31, the HSTC’s shelter dog adoption fee will be reduced from $120 to $60.
“The shelter is filled with loving cats, dogs, rabbits and critters that need forever homes,” said HSTC Operations Manager Candice Veach. “To ease the overcrowding in the dog adoption area, we are offering dog and puppy adoptions at half price for the month of October.”
In addition, the shelter will waive the adoption fees for featured dogs (not all dogs).
Adoptions are available at the HSTC’s main shelter, 4100 SW Leighton Farm Ave., Palm City 772-223-8822; HSTC Thrift Store Central, 2585 SE Federal Highway, Stuart 772-286-6909; and HSTC Thrift Store North, 1099 NW 21st St., Stuart 772-232-4887.
Adoption hours are Mon.-Sat. from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Wed. from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sun. from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Pets available for adoption may be viewed online at http://www.hstc1.org. For more information, call 772-223-8822.
