Palm City, Fla./Aug. 31, 2012 — The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast (HSTC) welcomes Carrie Lavargna, a board certified real estate attorney, as a voluntary member of its board of directors.
“I am pleased to serve on the HSTC board because I know how much the Humane Society does for our community,” said Lavargna. “Our pets are important and loved by family members and when one is missing or needs a new loving home, the Humane Society is there to help. The educational programs, especially the therapy pets and Paws to Read, are fabulous ministries to people who may not have the love and affection of a pet at home.”
Lavargna, a member of The Florida Bar and the Martin County Bar Association, serves on the executive board for the Justice Major B. Harding American Inns of Court and is past president of Preferred Professionals of Martin County.
A native Floridian, she is a Seminole, Gator and Hurricane. She received her undergraduate degree from Florida State University and her law degree from the University of Florida. She also was an adjunct professor at the University of Miami Law School.
Lavargna moved to Stuart with her family in 2001 and soon opened her own law practice focusing on the legal needs of families and individuals dealing with real estate transactions and estate planning and probate issues.
She is married to Larry Lavargna and they have two sons in college and three dogs at home.
